The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is available to pre-order from Samsung now at £639. Samsung has a special offer for those who will pre-order before before 5th March, 2016. They will get their phones on the 8th of March, 3 days before the official March 11th release date. In Addition, they will get a free Samsung Gear VR Headset.
While you may want to pre-order your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone, it is important to note that Samsung phones have a trend of price drop few months after their launch. According to Idealo, we may see up 21 percent price drop within three months.

However, it is important to point out that the Galaxy S7 Edge in comparison with its predecessor is thicker and heavier. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a measurement of 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7mm compared to 7.1mm of the S6 Edge. It also weighs 157g, thus 25g heavier than the Galaxy S6 Edge which weighs 132g.
The Galaxy S7 Edge saw the reintroduction of some of the features that were in Galaxy S5 but not in the Galaxy S6. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is waterproof – It can survive 5 feet of water for 30 minutes. You can feel comfortable using your Galaxy S7 Edge in the pool or even in the rain.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has a 5.5in Super AMOLED display with a QHD resolution (1440×2560). Samsung touts that the display offers up to 534ppi. Another feature of the S7 Edge display is the ‘Always On’, a feature which allows the screen display such information as time, calendar events and other notifications such as missed calls, etc. at all times, even when the phone is not in use.
The power impact of the ‘Always On Display’ feature is minimal as AMOLED displays do not consume energy for displaying black pixels.
The Galaxy S7 Edge features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and has 4GB RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has 32GB of internal storage, many thanks to the Micro SD Card slot which allows expandable memory up to 200GB.
The Galaxy S7 Edge has a 5MP front-facing camera, we however saw a drop in megapixel from 16MP as was in the Galaxy S6 Edge to 12MP in the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Compared to the Galaxy S6 Edge which had a 2600mAh battery, we are indeed happy to see a battery increase of 1000mAh in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The S7 Edge features a 3600mAh battery; it also features wireless charging which Samsung claims can charge the S7 Edge from 0 to 100 percent in 2.2 hours.

If you guessed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge will come pre-loaded with the latest version of Android O.S – Android 6.0 Marshmallow or Android M as called by some, you couldn’t have been wrong.

The Samsung Galaxy is indeed a great flagship, another hit from Samsung. Introduction of the Micro SD Card is one that is so much welcomed by Samsung Galaxy fans. With increased battery life and waterproofing, the Galaxy S7 Ede would definitely stand tall amongst the best Smartphones in 2016.
£639 for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge makes it a high budget phone, but we’re hoping the price drops in the next few months as speculated.
