Just a few days ago, Samsung released an improved version of the Galaxy S6 Edge which will be known as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. I guess the smartphone giants are following the trend of apple in by adding a plus to the phone’s nomenclature instead of giving the phone an entirely different name. The Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus was released alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus shares the curved glass screen as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge but is slightly larger at 5.7 inches, a difference in size of 0.6 inches. it is also more scratch resistant. It uses Super AMOLED technology and has Quad HD resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus runs Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop) with TouchWiz UX on an Exynos Octa-Core Processor with 4x Cortex-A53 @1.5GHz and 4x Cortex-A57 @2.1GHz and has one extra gigabyte of RAM which makes it 4GB to aid multi-tasking. The Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus supports Samsung Pay via Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST).
The rear Camera of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is 16MP with optical image stabilization while the front camera is 5MP, Samsung retained the same camera features as the Samsung Galaxy Edge in the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and even more adding a button in the camera app which activates a “live broadcast” mode, which streams 1080p high definition video to YouTube and sends invitations to selected acquaintances.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus also supports for the Ultra-High Quality Audio (UHQA) format. There is also a new hardware component which reduces sound distortion when files saved in the codec are played.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus which is available in Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum, Silver Titan and White Pearl colors has 32GB and 64GB memory options and supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot and Bluetooth v4.2 connectivity. It supports wireless charging and fingerprint scanning.
