In few days from now, we’ll be expecting to see two new Nexus Phones, and one of the new Nexus Phones to be revealed is the Nexus 5. The Nexus 5 is an LG-made smartphone running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Nexus 6 phone which was announced in October 2014 was termed ‘Google’s least exciting phone yet’, as customers felt that the 5.9in Quad HD Display was too big and the £499 price too high. The Nexus 6 was a follow up for the £299 Nexus 5 in October 2013 and £239 Nexus 4 in 2012.

During the Google I/O 2015 keynote, Google did not mention anything about any New Nexus Phones, but we were able to get a first glimpse of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the operating system that will run on the new Nexus phones.

Its possible to install the Developer Version of the Android M on existing Nexus Phones. Android M will launch globally late 2015 or early 2016 after it has first been launched on the new Nexus devices, with the release of the Developer Version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, we can surely tell that a new Nexus 5 phone is not too far from being launched.

Reports from Talk Android  suggest that Google will unveil the new Nexus phones on 29th September, and they will be available to pre-order just two weeks later on 13th October.

New Nexus 5 2015 Specification and Feature Rumours: What to expect from the new Nexus 5

From the look of things, the LG Nexus will be the smaller and less powerful device of the two Nexus Phones, with a 5.2in full-HD P-OLED screen that’s only a little bit larger than that of the existing Nexus 5. The new Nexus 5 will also use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, and feature up to 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of local storage and a 3180mAh battery.

It is also rumoured that the new Nexus 5 phone will have front-facing speakers, a rear fingerprint scanner, 13MP rear camera and USB Type-C with QuickCharge 2.0. Rather than plastic, the LG Nexus will allegedly offer a metal design.
