You can crash someone’s iPhone with a mere text message, sounds like a joke, right? Well, it has been confirmed, there is a new iPhone Hack – a text message that will crash your iPhone. It’s unclear if someone stumbled on this code by accident or was specifically looking for ways to wreak havoc.
A nasty computer bug in Apple’s iOS allows anyone who sends an iPhone a certain text message to shut it down. To worsen the situation, you don’t even need to open the text message before it crashes your phone, your device just needs to receive the text.
That means anyone can pull off this prank and anyone whose mobile number is known by someone else is susceptible to this iPhone Hack.
The text message that will crash your iPhone includes two English words, a string of Arabic characters that appears to have no meaning, and a Japanese character.
Once you send this havoc causing text message to someone, the recipient’s iPhone shuts down immediately and comes back on by itself after 15 seconds. I’m sure someone out there wants to try this iPhone hack on a friend, but be sure that Apple would make a fix available.
Some users have already started complaining that an alternative version of the code permanently disables iMessage, until you delete the conversation.
Apple has not yet explained what’s happening but said in a statement, “We are aware of an iMessage issue caused by a specific series of unicode characters, and we will make a fix available in a software update.”
A whole lot of users are already playing the prank on each other, i hope there is no other unknown effect of this iPhone Hack?
