Apple just recently on the 9th of September unveiled some new products at an event in San Francisco, amongst which were the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, the iPad Pro and the new Apple TV.
Apple also gave news updates on the Apple Watch and iOS 9.
Here are some of the key points from the event:
iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus
The world came to a pause as Apple launched two new phones, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, as is expected from an ‘S’ series iPhone, there is a no much difference in terms of design between the Latest iPhone models and its 2014 predecessors. At 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches respectively, they have the same screen sizes.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus which comes in an all new Aluminium body makes them slightly thicker than 2014’s iPhones.
A new technology referred to as ‘3D Touch’ allows users the opportunity to apply different levels of pressure to the iPhone’s screen to perform different actions.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus saw the introduction of an upgraded iPhone camera that records 4K video and shoots 12-megapixel photos. The new iPhones’ camera also has a new feature which is known as ‘live photos’, it takes a series of pictures and incorporates the images taken before and after the actual picture.
The iPhone also has an upgraded A9 processor which makes them twice as fast as their predecessor. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus would go on sale on the 25th of September, and are priced from £539, and can be pre-ordered from September 12th.
Apple also unveiled a 12.9-inch version of the iPad. The iPad Pro is a major upgrade in processing power, has a bigger screen and is almost as thin as the iPad Air. A sort-of stylus known as the ‘Apple Pencil’ which responds to how hard it is being pressed on the iPad Pro’s screen was also unveiled.
It also unveiled the ‘Smart Keyboard’, a case that includes physical keys.
To confirm rumours that went viral on the web, Apple TV was launched alongside the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The fourth generation Apple TV features a touch sensitive remote and Siri voice control integration.
The Apple TV which has a 32GB Model and a 64GB Model comes with a new operating system, tvOS, which will allow developers to create apps for it, with a heavy focus on gaming.
The Apple TV which costs $149 for the 32GB model and $199 for the 64GB version would go on sale starting from October. UK pricing is yet to be announced.
The second version of the Apple Watch software, watchOS2, got a release date – September 16; iOS 9 would also be released on that same day.
