Acer Swift 7: World’s Thinnest Laptop

The just concluded Acer IFA 2016 in Berlin was indeed an event full of awe. One of the products launched at the event was the Acer Swift 7 laptop, an incredibly thin laptop that can now be known as the World’s Thinnest Laptop.

Amazingly, the Swift 7 which is a Windows 10 laptop powered by the Intel Core i5 processor measures only 9.98mm, actually less than 1cm. Despite its amazing super slim design, the Acer Swift 7 didn’t have to put away all other features as it still offers two USB Type-C 3.1 ports, a headphone jack and battery that is touted to power up to 9 hours.

The Acer Swift 7 beat Apple’s MacBook and HP’s Spectre 13 to win the prestigious title of being the World’s Thinnest Laptop.

Just  a moment ago, we would have ranked the HP Spectre (10.4mm) at the pinnacle of slim laptops, followed by 12-inch Apple MacBook (13.1mm) and then the Apple MacBook Air (17mm), but after the IFA event at Berlin, Acer Swift 7 jumped all the way to the first position with a thickness of just 9.98mm, incredible!

The Acer Swift 7 weighs only 1.1kg, almost 6 times less than the Acer Predator X 21 that was also revealed on the same day. It has a very comfortable-to-type-on keyboard and a very wide responsive and reliable touch pad that is Microsoft Precision Touchpad-certified.

Acer also launched a Spin 7 model, which is similar in many ways to the Swift 7 the difference being that it features an Intel Core i7 processor, 14-inch display, touch, a 360-degree hinge only at the cost of an extra millimeter over the Swift 7.

Also announced at the event was the Acer Predator 21 X – a monster in laptop clothing that features the first ever 21-inch curved screen display on a laptop, 64GB RAM and 4TB of SSD Storage.

The Acer Swift 7 launches in China in September for ¥6,999, followed by Europe and the United States in October, at prices of €1,299 and $999, respectively.

The Acer Swift 7 really has some really impressive features and is definitely going to give the HP Spectre and other super-slim laptops some real competition. If you love style and flair, then you’ll love the Acer Swift 7.
